This is the submission to the 2006 DFRWS Forensic File Carving Challenge by the James Madison University Forensics Group. The submission includes the following files/directories: README: this README file fragmend: a directory containing FragMend, a tool we created to solve the challenge. Included are the source code (src), the tool's final solution file for the challenge (solution.xml and fragmend.dtd), the open-source license for the code (LICENSE), and instructions how to compile and run the tool (README) jmu-writeup.pdf: our description of the tool and how it was used to solve the challenge summary.txt: a file containing the required information for each file we recovered from the raw challenge data. This includes name, size, file type, md5 checksum, and a list of sectors that belong to each file.
